At Waypoint Christian Church, we believe “church” is more about the people than it is about a building, a program, or even the seats in which we sit. So if you’re looking for a place where you can connect with real people just like you, then we’d love to have you come and see what’s happening here.

In addition to real people, you’ll find a church that does everything we can to make the truth of the Bible relevant to life. That’s because God’s love for us is relevant and offers the best way to do life through Jesus Christ. No matter where you are in your spiritual journey or your notions about church or Christians, you’ll be warmly welcomed here and will find relationships that make a difference in your life.

Our Mission:

Is to make Disciples by loving God well and making His love well known.  We do this by winning, building, equipping and multiplying those in our sphere of influence.

Our Vision:

To invest in tomorrow's disciple makers today. We dream of nations, communities and duty stations, as well as individual lives being changed, as followers of Jesus are equipped and sent out on mission with the transforming message of the gospel.

Our Values:

  • To be a lighthouse to those far from Christ.
  • To be an aid station to the hurting.
  • To be a supply depot for the disciple-maker.

Waypoint Christian Church is Pastor and Elder led.  We are so honored to introduce to you our Interim Pastor and our Elder team that pour into Waypoint every day with their faithfulness to God.

  • Pastor

Waypoint is currently in the process of trusting the Lord to provide a permanent Senior Pastor.  We have established a Pastor Search Committee that is prayerfully and carefully considering applicants at this time.  In the meantime, the Lord has richly blessed Waypoint with dedicated Elders and wonderful guest and interim pastors to teach His word.

  • elder eddie dodgen

With a passion for being a light unto the darkness of the world, Eddie has often said that his passion and calling is "to know Christ and to make Christ known!" His heart is to ensure the spiritual growth of Waypoint by leading the Men's Ministry, leading a life group, and preaching the Word of God to the congregation when called upon. Eddie and his wife Desireé have two kids, Alayna(11), Conner(9), and their dog Gabe that are fully open to the will of God, always ready for what He will have them do next.

  • elder paul maetzold

Paul is known for encouraging and spurring others on to pursue knowing Jesus and making Him known. He has a passion for discipleship, LifeGroups, and teaching God’s Word. He and his wife, Connie, are from Minnesota and have been married for over 26 years, and raised three children: Emily (21), Andy (23), and Jon (24) who are living for Jesus.

  • elder tim ogden

Tim and his wife, Jamie, have lived in Germany since 2015. They are originally from Pennsylvania and have a 3 year old, Levi. Tim finds joy in investing in the people and families of the church through discipleship, LifeGroups, Children's Ministry, and serving wherever possible. He has witnessed Waypoint's growth from a church plant meeting in a local movie theater and never gets tired of seeing the people of Waypoint serving as the Body of Christ.

  • elder david smith

God qualifies those that He has called to perform His plans; He only seeks a willing heart. David and Christi desire to be willing participants in the progress of the gospel of Christ and to encourage others to do the same. The Smiths have been blessed with four daughters: Elise (12), Amelia (10), Adelaide (8), and Evaline (6). Their goal is to help the body of Christ to be actively involved and adherent to the scripture.

Bart has been married to his wife, Toni, for thirty-two years and they have been blessed with four children (Deaven, Christian, Noah and Naomi), two granddaughters (Tenley and Elbereth), and two daughters-in-law (Heather and Taylor).  Bart and Toni are humbled to be a part of the Body of Christ commissioned with spreading the gospel message. Bart's desire is to contend earnestly for the faith (Jude 3) and to watch over the souls entrusted to his care as elder, teacher, prayer ministry leader, and Life Group leader.  He considers it a blessing to call Waypoint Christian Church home, and his hope is that we all grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18).
