After much prayer and deliberation by the Pastoral Search Committee, the congregation, and the Elders, and most importantly with confirmation from the Lord, we are very excited to introduce Pastor Byron de Klerk, Waypoint Christian Church's new Senior Pastor.  We have been tremendously blessed to have him accept our invitation to serve in this capacity.

Pastor de Klerk received a Diploma in Theology in 2003 and his Licentiate in Theology in 2004 from Baptist Theological College of Southern Africa. Before becoming a lead pastor in 2006, he first served as a youth pastor for six years where he met Jenny-Lyn.  They have two amazing children--Luke and Jessie.

In 2013 he was called to pastor Stellenbosch Baptist Church in South Africa.  He and Jenny-Lyn are very excited to fulfill the call that the Lord has placed on his life to be our senior pastor.

Pastor de Klerk's heart for ministry is evident when he says, "I constantly seek to use my God-given teaching, preaching and pastoral gifts to connect people to Jesus so that they are able to fulfill the Great Commission and Great Commandment.  My philosophy of ministry is therefore based on 2 Timothy 2:2..."and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also." I believe my role as a pastor is to make disciples who will go and make disciples."
